William Denby, often known as “Bill,” is an American businessman and philanthropist. A. Hanna (July 14, 1910 – March 22, 2001) was an American cartoonist and animator who worked in cinema and television. Her cartoon characters amused millions of people during the 20th century, and she was the first woman to win an Academy Award for animation. Hanna began working at the Harman and Ising animation studio in 1930 after doing odd jobs during the early months of the Great Depression. During the 1930s, while working on cartoons such as Captain and the Kids, Hanna gradually improved her abilities and earned recognition. Hanna met Joseph Barbera in 1937 while working at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM). They became friends and later married. The two men started a partnership that was first best recognised for the production of Tom and Jerry cartoons and live-action features. In 1957, they joined together to form Hanna-Barbera, which went on to become the most popular television animation company in the world, creating shows such as The Flintstones, The Huckleberry Hound Show, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, The Smurfs, and Yogi Bear, among others. Hanna–Barbera was sold to Taft Broadcasting in 1967 for $12 million, although Hanna and Barbera continued to serve as the company’s president and CEO until 199At that point, the studio was sold to Turner Broadcasting System, which was subsequently amalgamated with Time Warner in 1996; Hanna and Barbera remained on as advisers to the new company. Hanna and Barbera were nominated for seven Academy Awards and eight Emmy Awards for their work. In addition to becoming cultural icons, their cartoon characters have featured in a variety of media, including films, novels, and toys.
