Scott Simdorn Died After Being Pulled From Water As Snowmobile

Separate snowmobile crashes around Minnesota last weekend left three riders dead, including a 12-year-old boy.

In western Minnesota, authorities say a 64-year-old Ottertail man was killed Saturday night after two snowmobiles and an ATV went into the water on Otter Tail Lake in Otter Tail Township.

One victim was rescued and hospitalized but later died, according to the Otter Tail County sheriff’s office. He was identified as Scott Simdorn.

In northeastern Minnesota, a 55-year-old Twin Cities woman was killed in a snowmobile crash along an Iron Range trail Saturday afternoon.

Nancy L. Grieman, of Albertville, died after she lost control of her snowmobile and struck a tree on the Bearskin Trail in Morcom Township, some 30 miles north of Hibbing, according to the St. Louis County sheriff’s office.

In southeastern Minnesota, a 12-year-old boy was killed in a snowmobile crash Sunday afternoon.

According to the Wabasha County sheriff’s office, deputies were called to private property near Theilman for a single snowmobile crash.

The boy, identified as Blaze Leland Himle, apparently struck a tree in a wooded area and was pronounced dead at the scene.
